Friday, August 8: THE
YOUNG PROFESSIONALS OLYMPICS.
As athletes take the stage in Bejiing, the YP
Olympics will kick off in the Fitness Center of the Glens
Falls YMCA at 5:30 pm and continue until 7:30 pm.
Network over healthy snacks, pitch services over treadmills
and swap trade secrets amid barbells.
There is no cost to attend, but it's more fun if you get
pledges (as an individual or a team) for time you'll spend
walking on the track, running on the treadmill, lifting
weights, climbing the stair master, using the elliptical and
the rowing machine, or participating in a special funky fun
group class.
Bring family, friends, fellow employees to participate. The
event is open to Y members and non-members. Non-members will
have to fill out a waiver form that evening as they
register.
The proceeds from the pledges will go toward the YMCA's
Strong Kid's Scholarship Program. To print the pledge card,
The Y will award medals to "winners" for raising the most
money, walking the farthest, dancing the longest. Winners
will take to the podium to accept their awards. Checks can
be made out to the Glens Falls Family YMCA. Questions?
Contact Kristen Hamilton or Mandy Rudolph at the YMCA at
793-3878.
