Checking in with the Adirondack Nonprofit Business Council (ANBC)
The ANBC or the Adirondack Non-Profit Business Council has been proud to work as a sub-council of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce for about four years now. During the beginning of our formation, our goal was to educate and partner with businesses, foster healthy community relationships and assist each other in our mission work to provide better service to all in our community by working efficiently in collaboration. Our non-profit business members bring incredible value and spirit to our community.
We all work hard to feed, shelter, educate, nurture and heal bodies while also stimulating our minds and hearts. Let us not forget that while doing these things, we employ hundreds of dedicated and caring staff members. When we look at all the fibers that make up the business community blanket that covers us, do we stop and look at how we all have been impacted by our local non-profits? Have we taken the time to experience our wonderful museums, theater and library? Have we or a family friend experienced a hardship and needed a helping hand? Do we fully understand the positive impact that our non-profit agencies have in helping those in need from infants to our disabled or elderly? From our community centers to our hospital and clinics, our YMCA to our shelter programs, our many local non-profit’s impact on our community is not only positive for our health, minds and our hearts, it is also a positive one for our economy.
