An insurance policy is an investment that offers protection to some of your most valuable assets. The language of insurance policies is near gibberish, so understanding what is and is not covered can be hard to decipher. I can admit that I may need a second opinion to fully understand some policies too! But that’s why having an independent agent is important; you work with a team of professionals who work for you, and not any one insurance company.
An agent is with you every step of the way. The first step is meeting you and finding out your needs. The next step is sorting through several quotes and picking the top contenders for you to choose from. Once you choose your carrier, your agent is on hand to provide a proof of insurance when you need it. Like that auto ID card when you’re at the dealer buying a new car or an insurance binder for your bank when closing on your first home.
Then there’s the tough part- a loss. Having a claim is very unnerving, but having the right agent makes all the difference in the world. An agent is your voice to the insurance company and knows you and your policy best.
There are many options in town, and I highly recommend spending a few minutes with an insurance agent to ensure that you are adequately protected. The best agent celebrates with you in the good times and is there for you in the not so good times.
