MARINE SUPERINTENDANT (MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR)

Looking for a Marine Superintendent for a well-established family-owned business operating large passenger excursion vessels in upstate New York on Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains. Excellent benefits. Salary based on experience.
 

JOB DESCRIPTION

· Oversee team of vessel operating engineers and maintenance personnel year round.

· Oversee all maintenance, repairs and renovations as needed on Company vessels, wharves, buildings and other assets.

· Maintain compliance with local, state and federal safety codes and regulations applicable to Company operation.

· Coordinate and oversee any needed work by outside contractors for maintenance, repairs or renovations.

· Coordinate with owners on all planned projects.

· Coordinate with other Company Department team leaders to effect most efficient operations.

· Be a team member as well as a team leader.

REQUIREMENTS

· Strong background in general mechanical ability.

· Engineering degree helpful but not required.

· Management experience preferred.

· Knowledge of air conditioning, electrical wiring, and welding helpful.

· U.S. Coast Guard or New York State Marine license helpful but not required.

· Driver’s License

· Once hired, employee would be expected to work towards NYS certification to operate the Minne steam engine, as well as certification for diesel engine operations on the Saint and the Mohican.
