NOTICE OF VACANCY
SUPERINTENDENT OF WATER AND WASTEWATER
The City of Glens Falls is seeking to fill the chief administrative position of the Water and Wastewater Department. The work involves overall administrative and technical responsibility for the operation of the City wastewater treatment facility, as well as the City’s water distribution and treatment facility.
SALARY RANGE: $95,000-$100,000 with benefit package that includes health insurance (dental and vision included), enrollment in the New York State retirement system and paid time off.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in civil, industrial, or environmental engineering, or related field and six (6) years responsible experience in the operation, design, maintenance, and/or repair of a wastewater system, which shall include two (2) years supervisory experience.
Special Requirements: If in charge of the operation of a plant, possession of the appropriate Operator’s License of a grade appropriate to the facility as determined by the New York State Department of Health or New York State Department of Environmental Conservation at time of appointment.
The position will be filled based upon Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with an examination to be held at a later date. Candidates must meet Civil Service requirements for appointment following establishment of the Eligible List.
