About Us
North Country Rural Development Coalition (NRDC) is a non-profit organization established in 1984, dedicated to enhancing and connecting the community through a wide range of housing rehabilitation, downtown revitalization, historic preservation, and community development programs. For over 40 years, NRDC has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for residents in the Ticonderoga area and beyond, overseeing projects that address critical housing and economic development needs.
NRDC has successfully secured over $8 million in grants for a variety of initiatives, including housing rehabilitation, economic development, Main Street revitalization, community planning, and educational programs. The organization collaborates with local, county, regional, state, and federal agencies, community-based organizations, businesses, and individuals to identify needs, develop strategies, and secure funding for transformative projects that benefit the community.
As part of its mission, NRDC oversees the Essex County Land Bank, working to revitalize vacant and abandoned properties, promote affordable housing, and stimulate economic development. NRDC also offers valuable grant programs, such as mobile home replacement, Restore, CDBG, and HOME, to assist homeowners in the tri-county area.
NRDC is supported through annual operating funds from the New York State Homes and Community Renewal, as well as income from private and public grants, consulting services, and membership contributions.Images
